The risks are very real. Statistics that anyone who works at heights are familiar with, reveal the life changing injuries that are all too frequent which at best leave people unable to continue their lives as normal, and at worst, not at all.
With experience of working at height over a 30 year period we have unfortunately seen situations that have left families, friends and businesses left struggling to pick up the pieces.
Our drive now is to help you and your team develop the competence and confidence to work at height safely and to improve all the systems that are needed to create that. That could be:
Through training you and your team
Risk assessment of your site
Permits to work
Inspection and maintenance
New fall protection and roof access systems that consistently improve the safety of your business environment.
The Covid pandemic in 2020 that continues to this day, allowed our company and managing director Alan Faulkner, to reflect on where we were as a company within a growing fall protection industry.
The introduction of BS7883:2019 through the British Standards process developed by expert within the PH/5 committee has given us a focus on what we, and our peers, should be doing to 'raise the bar' on a largely unregulated industry.
It is a tough standard to comply with and the vast majority of stakeholders in this sector do not currently comply with it, but BS 7883 has changed nothing in terms of the fundamental duty to ensure a safe system, so far as reasonably practicable. The industry had simply not been doing so adequately previously.
Part of our role now, is to both educate ourselves and our clients on the best design principals to follow when working at height. Our involvement with the special interest group within the BSIF, the Height Safety Group, is a demonstration of our commitment as we stride forward to 'raising our bar' as much as that of others and our clients.
We work in all sorts of industries that have needed our experience and specialist knowledge. There is a great variation in our clients to who we have provided help. For example ...
We have teams that work with the Royal Navy providing fall protection on the type 45 Royal Navy Destroyer and its carriers, the Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales. Our systems protect the Royal Navy Team where they are on active service in a very specialized situation.
We are sure that we can help you tackle your working at height issues with professionalism, enthusiasm and the expertise that will give you confidence with your project.
If what you have seen leads you to think that we can help then give us a call. Our team will help you get to a point where you sit back, relax and maybe even enjoy the view.
