Bowmer and Kirkland – Center Parcs Woburn Forest
The project involved the design and construction of the main centre buildings and associated ancillary buildings at the new Center Parcs holiday village in Woburn, Bedfordshire.
The development was split across two principle sites and a number of ancillary locations within the village.
In December 2012 Beta Safety Systems were asked to look at safe access internally on the main centre buildings. We worked with Bowmer and Kirkland to set the initial design risk assessment of the buildings and from that assessment we developed a working access strategy that recommend safe methods of works using products that would allow safe access across each of the sites.
The project value for Beta was approximately £200,000
There were a range of products provided on the site which included:
Extensive walkway systems
Proprietary and Bespoke Guardrail systems
Horizontal lifeline systems
Steps and step over units
Fall arrest anchor points
Abseil systems
The incorporation on these products within the building allowing the end user of the building to work confidently at height both during construction and during future maintenance of the building.
All installation works were completed on time and in line with the agreed scope of works agreed with our client.
